Bio
Megan is a Glasgow-based artist, Art Psychotherapist and mother to two beautiful girls. Her work is often diaristic in nature, exploring the rawness and vulnerabilities of both the physical and emotional transformations which matrescence and motherhood invokes alongside the art therapy profession. Her research makes visible the interrelatedness and transitory nature of these roles. In June 2020, she began creating artwork to self-locate her position at the beginning of and throughout pregnancy while undergoing her master’s qualification in art psychotherapy and has continued this creative process throughout mothering. Matrescence has been an ongoing journey of emotional turmoil; with her daughters in her womb, and in her arms, dedicating time and space to art making and writing has contained personal feelings and unearthed new meanings of being and becoming a mother whilst navigating a career.
