Renata Ferdinand is an Assistant Professor of English at New York City College of Technology, where she teaches courses in English and African American Studies. She uses auto-ethnography and narrative and performative writing techniques to explore the experiences of Black women. Her work appears in several publication outlets, including an essay within the edited volume Mothers and Sons: Centering Mothering Knowledge (2016), and Communicating Pregnancy Loss: Narrative as a Method for Change (2014).
