Bio
Martha JOY Rose is a community organizer, museum founder, and fine artist.
Her writing has been widely published and she has performed with her band Housewives On Prozac on Good Morning America, CNN, and the Oakland Art & Soul Festival to name a few. She is an Individual Artist Award Recipient from the City of St. Pete and the St. Pete Arts Alliance for her manuscript, Sing Out Sister (2021). She is also the NOW-NYC recipient of the Susan B. Anthony Award, her Mamapalooza Festival Series has been recognized as Best in Girl-Power Events, and her music has appeared on the Billboard Top 100 Dance Charts.
Her current live/work space is the MOM Art Annex in Kenwood, devoted to elucidating the art, science, and history of women, m/others, and families. The Annex currently serves as production site for the development of the Museum of Motherhood in St. Petersburg. She is the founder of the Journal of Mother Studies (JourMS).
